The PRIVATA brand name has existed for over three decades now, and as it has evolved over the years it has won adepts among a very wide cross-section of the general public, attracting an unrivalled level of popularity and customer loyalty when compared with other European fashion labels. The origins of PRIVATA go back much further, however, and are linked to long-established traditional practices. In the early years of the last century, in a difficult context of considerable economic hardship for many, the challenge was to find extremely low-cost material that could provide adequate protection against the winter cold. This was when the idea first arose of re-using old or disused woollen clothes, soon developing into an ingenious system for recycling materials. For this reason we have no hesitation in asserting PRIVATA's role as a company that from the outset was among the very first to manufacture its products from materials that were 100% recycled.
